STORIE DI UOMINI E LUPI

OF WOLVES AND MEN

Alessandro Abba Legnazzi, Andrea Deaglio / Italy / 2015 / 75 min / Colour

The wolf, a mythic, symbolic animal which until a few decades ago survived only in fables, has returned to the Alps. While some people are enthusiastic and argue that this species is being saved from extinction, and follow the animal's tracks to study its movements and behaviour, breeders suffer daily loses of their livestock which, domesticated for centuries, remain helpless and powerless during the attacks. Faced with images of cows and sheep barbarously savaged, public opinion is divided. This documentary gathers various voices, favouring understanding and knowledge, even including testimony from far-away Mongolia.
