Raclette Kirghiz

Svizzera / 2010 / 0 min / Colour

The Kirghiz, a nomadic population of the steppe, does not know the art of making cheese. During a trip to Kirghizistan, a Swiss woman perceives the shepherds’ desire to learn. On her return to Switzerland, she founds an association to meet this request. She hires Marlène Galletti, a mountain guide and cheese maker, to go there and teach what she knows. Here we see Marlène climb up 2800 metres to the meadows of Kirghizistan, in the Tian Cian mountain range, to transform milk into cheese under a yurt.
