Marysina Polana

The dog hill

Polonia / 2010 / 39 min / Colour

Italian premiere

On a slope, somewhere above the forest, smoke can be seen coming from the fireplace of a small refuge. To reach it, one must follow the border, long impassable, between Poland and Slovakia, cross it, and push forward toward the heart of the forest. In the hut are four men, who have only each other for company, as they are forced to live together, albeit uneasily, for more than half a year, from May to October. Every day they must feed and milk 400 sheep. Day after day, their intimacy increases, and they begin to open up somewhat. Even though they are of different ages and origins, they have one prevailing thought in common: women!
