Lessinia: an evocative and lost world

To fulfill an unspoken agreement with his paternal grandfather, who emigrated to America at the start of the last century, a young man visits the Lessinia area. When he reaches his grandfather’s homeland, however, he realizes that it is totally changed. The environment has been compromised by the invasive and destructive presence of man: houses, quarries, ski trails, and pylons. He feels disoriented, yet sees a ray of hope.
Giorgio Pirana
Giorgio Pirana is a member of the Club Alpino Italiano and of the Gruppo Italiano Scrittori di Montagna. Alpinist and photographer, he began making documentaries in 1985. He participated without interruption in the Film Festival della Lessinia from 1995 to 2009, garnering many prizes
