Millennium News is the title of eight short TV news broadcasts about the eight MDGs. They were written and filmed by 80 boys and girls who came from the slums of Nairobi, and are now supported by AMREF. All of the news is delivered as real TV news: a television studio was set up in the shantytown, and original and unique reportages are broadcast to explain the meaning of the goals that the United Nations aim to reach and transfer to the life of people who live in shantytowns. The young anchors introduce reports on the themes of health, education, and access to clean water from their own perspective and original point of view, offering a realistic look at the difficulties and daily struggle with urban poverty.
