Darién Gap is the name of the jungle: a labyrinth of trunks and branches that covers the border between Colombia and Panama. Mauro Colombo crosses it with the camera accompanying those who travel through it every day, in its most remote offshoots. The destination of every traveler can be denied for a long time and it is easy to get lost, despite the many paths that, over the centuries, have been traced by man. There are many migrant travellers, from every continent, who have not passed it. The vast vegetal cordillera is beaten back by soldiers looking for traffickers who to escape control never leave the forest. But there are also those who follow the tracks of wild predators, imprinted in the earth: a forester sets up photographic traps, in search of an elusive jaguar, the silent guardian of the region. Jungle life is often forced into exile due to deforestation, perpetuated with vast fires, which is changing its profile. Yet, time covers every trace of humanity, if you give the plants time to grow. Even above the tracks of an ancient railway.
