Matteo Parisini / Italy / 2007 / 10 min / Colour

The final interview with the great Italian journalist, Enzo Biagi. Born in August of 1920 in Lizzano in Belvedere, in the Pianaccio mountains of the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines, Biagi talks about what ties him to these mountains: his childhood lived in the family house; the bond with his father, a simple worker, and his housewife mother; the partisan war fought up here when he was little more than twenty; his return trips to his mountain on the last years of his life. The documentary, filmed a few months before Biagi’s death, becomes a delicate and moving portrait of a man who was close to the soul of the common man.
