HVALFJÖRÐUR

WHALE VALLEY

Guðmundur Arnar Guðmundsson / Denmark, Iceland / 2013 / 15 min / Colour

In the bleak moors of a remote Icelandic fjord surrounded by mountains, a boy silently observes the inexorable unfolding of events: the increasing difficulty of talking with his parents, his brother’s depression, a whale stranded on the beach. Everything seems to communicate a strong sense of loneliness and uncertainty. But this will create a deep bond with his older brother that will mark the turning point in their relationship.
