Milarepa in the name of one of the most personages of Tibetan Buddhism. He lived during the twelfth century and was e necromantic, a translator, a scholar and, finally, a monk. Young Leo, a scholar of oriental history, involved in the translation of a text about the life of Milarepa, becomes involved in a traffic accident. Trapped in the auto and awaiting help, the student describes to his professor the gestures of the monk, and at the end of this recounting indentifies with him. Together they undertake in imaginary voyage in Tiber, where Leo becomes Milarepa and his professore the master Marpa. this film made a great impact at the time it was made , with its strong mystical imprint, and received an enthusiastic review from Pier polo Pasolini. Set in the imprevious Tibetan mountains, it was actuall filmed in Italy's Abruzzo region.
