Between 2011 and 2012, Slavc, a male wolf of Dinaric-Balkan origins, left Slovenia and crossed the Alps, passing through Austria and Trentino Alto Adige, to fi nally arrive in the Lessinia. Here he met Giulietta, a female wolf who arrived spontaneously from the northeast Alpine regions. This meeting of two wolf populations resulted in the formation of a pack and the birth of two cubs. What was an extraordinary event for scholars is described here as a sweet love story.
Andrea Rüthlein
Born in Holzkirchen (Germany) in 1964, she earned a diploma from the Tegernsee secondary school and studied biology in München. Since 1991 she has worked as a writer and director at the Bayerisches Fernsehen and since 1998 makes nature video-documentaries for other European television stations including ARD, ARTE and ORF.
