Shot entirely in some old districts of the Val Aupa, in the mountains of Udine, this documentary presents the natural environment of the valley and the ancient settlements that run through it. The interiors of the houses, now abandoned, contain furnishings from the middle of the last century. In the local, Friulian dialect, the old villagers interviewed tell about their lives as children and young people in the valley. The natural and man-made surroundings are exalted by solemn music. A tribute to the Val Aupa and to those who with great eff ort, but also moments of joy, lived there in times gone by.
Ivo Pecile
A naturalist and photographer for more than thirty years, his website, sentierinatura. it, won a special prize in 2002 in the CAI Alp Web Award competition. Since 2007, with Marco Virgilio he has organized and conducted the programme Sentierinatura on Telefriuli. He is the co-author with Sandra Tubaro of Le Guide di Sentieri Natura, a book about excursions in the Friulian Alps and Prealps.
