The monastery of Velika Hoca is reached by way of a steep path that unravels from the houses of a small village in the Kosovo Mountains. Just a few hundred meters are sufficient to find oneself immersed in an atmosphere of silence and calm. The monks share the same daily tasks with the villagers and alternate these with song and prayer. There is no differentiation or hierarchy among them; all dedicate time to the benevolent welcoming of the visitors who reach the monastery on foot.
