Vincent Hilton has a passion for antique woods. From his house in the heart of the Swiss mountains he has restored or built every piece of his furniture, listening to the woods’ histories, smelling their scents, and recognizing their particular grain. Seeing him caress his woods, we understand his passion as a carpenter and his respect for his predecessors who built these objects. His chisels and planes transform seemingly insignificant planks of wood into cabinets, cribs, tables and chairs. This is his way of transmitting this ancient art to future generations. But within the stone walls of his house Vincent lets go with his rock band, with his daughter on drums. And with his daughter he climbs trees, plays in the meadows, and lives in total contentment in a corner of the mountains where he seems to have found his ideal habitat.
