In her dreams, little Rosaleen experiences the vivid images of the fables and stories recounted by her grandmother, in which wolves become men and approach young girls with their magnetic eyes. But are these only fables or is it actually possible to meet the wolf and fall under the spell of its shiny eyes? Rosaleen decides to go to live with her grandmother who, as in the famous tale, sews her granddaughter a cape and, through her storytelling, alerts her to the dangers of the werewolves. With this film, his second, Neil Jordan made not only a horror film but also a rich container of legends and folklore about the wolf and his mystique. The story of Little Red Riding Hood is revisited here in a psychological key as a metaphor for the passage from girlhood to adulthood.
