GO WEST

Buster Keaton / United States / 1925 / 69 min / Black and white

Friendless, a lonely young man in search of work, leaves the city and is hired at a ranch in the West. Clumsy with horses and weapons, he manages to connect only with Brown Eyes, a limping cow who follows him everywhere. When the animal is sent to the slaughterhouse, Friendless decides to save her, crossing Los Angeles with an entire herd in tow. Between trains, crowded streets, and improbable chases, the film becomes an ode to loyalty, cleverness, and the most unexpected kind of affection. With his dry, poetic style, Keaton delivers a surreal comedy that gently reflects on loneliness and friendship.
