Like many of his contemporaries, Ignazio Ciccarello emigrated north in his youth. Dissatisfied and feeling like a prisoner in a world that didn’t feel like his own, he decided to return to the Sicilian mountains to become a shepherd like his father and grandfather. He now owns a large flock of sheep. The shepherd’s life is filled with hardship, but here Ignazio found true freedom.
