BOJA

Anna Fernandez De Paco / Bosnia and Herzegovina, Spain, United Kingdom / 2022 / 15 min / Colour

Italian premiere

Boja is living out the last years of life working hard on the family farm, in the war ruins of Močioci, a ghost village in the mountains above Sarajevo. Her brother leads the family with rude patriarchal ways that weigh on the life of Boja, who finds herself with a man in her house who gives orders and yells, but does not work, leaving her the burden of a routine from which she is unable to break free. To escape from this oppression, Boja finds comfort in solitude, taking long walks, wandering through the pastures with her sheep, and seeking comfort in the contemplation of Nature in which to immerse herself, going with her thoughts to the memories of the past days to escape the present.
