In the north of Iran, in the immense, arid meadowed expanse dominated by the cold rock of Mount Alborz, ancient tribes live according to customs and traditions that date back thousands of years. Isolated by geography and culture, the inhabitants of this region do not allow anyone to approach them or to investigate their ancient ways and beliefs, not even people who have lived amongst them for years. The musicality of the Persian language, the faces baked by the sun, and the hint of a smile seem like sounds and portraits from another world.
