Moutons, loup et tasse de thé...

Sheep, Wolf and a Cup of Tea...

Marion Lacourt / France / 2019 / 12 min / Colour

At night, as family members prepare to sleep with strange rituals, a child summons a wolf from a small box hidden under his bed. Materialised by the sleep of the sleeping, disturbing sheep besiege the boy's bedroom door, while the wolf leads him on a journey suspended between dream and memory. Reversing the stereotype that associates the wolf with evil and the sheep with innocence, Marion Lacourt creates a sophisticated and dense animation, in which evocative yet strangely familiar images guide us along with the protagonist through nocturnal and dreamlike lands. Among rustling turntables, moving woods and car races, the shadow of a quiet absence, of affections that are interrupted or, perhaps, moved to other planes of being, makes its way.
