What spaces are left to the wolf in which to move according to its natural rhythms? The presence of a predator that only in recent years has experienced a renaissance, from the Apennines to the Alps, poses new challenges to living together with human beings. The charm of its profile in the woods guides this story, created by the WolfAlps project, which crosses through Italy, accompanying the images with the analysis of biologists and ethologists who have made the study and protection of the wolf a mission. The complexity of this animal's behaviour is difficult to observe directly. Its howl is the sign of a return that imposes a reflection on our own identity, on the rediscovery of a millennial interaction that has written the history of man and that can become an opportunity to reflect on the human impact in a natural environment subject to continuous and rapid evolution.

Alessandro Ingaria
Director, writer and video artist, with a strong calling toward themes of human rights and new identities, he has traveled to more than 50 countries doing journalistic and photo reportages. He has made shorts and documentaries that have received international recognition. Since 2015 he has been the mayor of Priero, in Piedmont. L'aritmetica del lupo is his latest documentary.
