Mario Rigoni Stern recounts “his” Altipiano, from his thoughts on a snowy day to his terrible war recollections and his long walks with his dog and hunter’s rifle. In this exceptional portrait, the great writer from Asiago opens up in a kind of “stolen” interview that is more intimate than formal. In Rigoni Stern’s story appear the Alpine officer, the writer, the skier, and the hunter. Along with his voice are those of the Veneto filmmakers Ermanno Olmi and Mario Brenta and the memory of his friendship with the great Primo Levi.
