Vladimir Perović / Montenegro / 2015 / 22 min / Colour

Italian premiere

Cries, gurgles, whispers, whistles, pops, and mumbles: a cacophonous language, indecipherable to man, but not to the shepherd who communicates perfectly with his goats and sheep using these sounds. In the rough, rural landscape of the Montenegrin hills, shepherds and animals live in perfect symbiosis. Their system of communication consists of more than twenty rhythmic verses. The director follows the shepherd from dawn to dusk, with sober images and without beautiful landscapes, letting the sound of his voice, without words, do the talking.
