One afternoon after school, still full of energy, three children take their bikes to the mountains above their small rural village in Sardinia. Between running and exploring, they get caught in the rain and are forced to take refuge in a hut. They play war against imaginary enemies or explore the surrounding nature and its small insects. Their attention lingers on different situations with equal intensity, and then abandons them just as easily, sowing narrative elements that will never be collected. It matters little. What remains is not the adventure, but the diversity and truth of Federico, Roberto and Jacopo, who are not actors, but just children. A view of the freedom of those who grow up in the countryside and who learn to play without a mobile phone: their game is authentic and knows no distinctions.
Stefano Cau
Stefano Cau is a Sardinian director, born in 1991. He studied at the Scuola Holden in Turin. He then attended a Higher Education Course in film direction in Bobbio in 2015. In addition to Creaturas, he directed the short film Issa (2020). He has worked for various advertising campaigns. He was called as a juror for the 40th edition of the Giffoni Film Festival.
