In the desolate French countryside, the two eternal adolescents Yannick and Lamiche spend their days between boredom, beers and continuous stunts. Lamiche, older by ten years, torments Yannick and drags him into wrong choices. Their friendship is consumed in a crescendo of frustration and violence, which gradually involves the few inhabitants of the small town, triggering equally extreme reactions. When the relationship between the two seems forever compromised, for Lamiche the horizon of a future without possibility opens. Finding one of the protagonists of his previous short film, Premier amour, the director continues in the participatory narrative, but without rhetoric, of a degraded and hostile rural landscape, in which the uncertain fates of a group of young people evolve. His camera focuses on an agonising social context, in which human relationships pay the highest price, suffocated by the painful absence of prospects.
Jules Carrin
Jules Carrin was born in Cahors, France, in 1988. After gaining experience as assistant director, production assistant and stage director on various Parisian sets, in 2017 he graduated in film at HEAD Haute école d'art et de design of Geneva. His first film, Premier amour (2018), was presented at the Lessinia Film Festival.
