DREI ZINNEN

THREE PEAKS

Jan Zabeil / Germany, Italy / 2017 / 93 min / Colour

Aaron, Lea and little Tristan take off for an isolated mountain hut where they will spend a few days together. The child is the fruit of Lea's previous relationship and the vacation is to be the occasion to reinforce the delicate bond with her new companion. But this first step toward a life together transforms into a continuous skirmish, where each wants to defend his role within the family. Once they reach the Italian Dolomites, Aaron and Tristan must face the ambivalent affection that binds them and the fear they feel for one another, while Lea, who has now become the object of their contention, puts into crisis her position in this triangle, attempting to gain her son's trust. Aaron takes him on an excursion to the Tre Cime di Lavaredo and directly confronts his hostility. When the fog descends and Aaron loses every trace of Tristan, the tension between the two reaches a dangerous level.
