WE HAVE ONLY ONE MOTHER
Even the Film Festival della Lessinia is the child of Mother Earth. Pachamama, the Andeans call her: a goddess, female like the fada, the symbol of the Festival, like the Lessinia, like the mountains. We are children, twenty-five years old, of a story about the life of the planet Earth as seen from the perspective of the high lands. The homage that the Festival dedicates to Mother Earth in 2019 sums up the entire journey that began in 1995. Every film (67 in the program, from 32 countries), every meeting, excursion, workshop, exhibition, and concert in this year’s edition is linked to this story. Grateful to the Mother who has generated and protected us, and aware that she will not be able to long tolerate being unheard or abused, we walk together: we, the guests and the public, along the path of the next twenty-five years.
