An eruption threatens the village of Ginostra, in the southeast part of the island of Stromboli. The townspeople are miraculously rescued. The director tells this story with a fictionalised animated film, inspired by events that truly occurred during the eruption of September 11, 1930.
Tobias Deicke
Born in Berlin where he studied at the Universität der Künste, he earned a degree in animation from the Filmuniversität Babelsberg Konrad Wolf in Potsdam and a doctorate from the Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera in Milan. Das Herz des Stromboli is his debut film. He is an illustrator, screenwriter, and author of video installations.
