The new wave of young activists who have taken to the streets around the world, following the example of Greta Thunberg, are making every effort to raise awareness among politicians and the rest of the population about the climate change that will await us in the near future. Renowned photographer Jim Rakete, in his first work as a documentary filmmaker, offers an effective synthesis of the various youth movements aiming to combat climate change. Focusing on young activists, their faces and their struggles, NOW sends out, in their own words, a cry of rebellion, courage and individual conscience that becomes a collective call. A film that deliberately encourages imitation, in order to give new generations back the certainty of a better future.
Jim Rakete
Born in 1951 in Berlin, Jim Rakete is a German photographer, photojournalist, director, author and producer. Universally known for his black-and-white portraits; Rakete has photographed numerous personalities from the German and international music and film scene and world politics. NOW is his first documentary.
