Icemeltland Park

Liliana Colombo / Italy, United Kingdom / 2020 / 40 min / Colour

The global climate emergency is with us on a daily basis, telling us of a planet that is increasingly hotter and threatened by global pollution crises. How would we react to the melting of a glacier or the disintegration of an iceberg, right in front of our eyes? Liliana Colombo's documentary confronts the viewer with the obvious absurdity with which these issues are often portrayed in films and on television, constructing a narrative that shows the decay of the ice at the poles as the macabre spectacle of a surreal amusement park. But it also tells us about an increasingly wild and unregulated urbanism and the many floods and storms that affect the globe, constructing a conscious and sarcastic look at our planet.
