DAS MÄDCHEN VOM ÄNZILOCH

THE GIRL DOWN LOCH ÄNZI

Alice Schmid / Switzerland / 2016 / 87 min / Colour

Laura is twelve years old. She spends the summer in the high mountains. She is the only daughter of a busy, taciturn family of farmers who, most of the time, leave her alone. So, in the meadows and woods, or in her attic refuge, Laura has time to think and to fantasise. She is curious about the legend of the girl from Loch Änzi, a gorge where she is not allowed to go. With the arrival of a boy her age from the city, who has come up there to help on the farm, she finds someone to share her fantasies with. When he leaves her, Laura will find the courage to explore that place alone.
